ALTUS — Two veteran police officers were arrested Thursday afternoon after a six-month investigation, according to a news release from Altus Police Department.
Officer Russell Hansel, a 17-year veteran of the department, was arrested on complaints of grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny.
Officer Jose Arce, an 11-year veteran, was arrested on a complaint of conspiracy to commit a felony.
No further details were released.
“The actions of these two officers have placed a dark cloud over our police department,” Chief Tim Murphy said in the news release.
