An Oklahoma City mother accused of hitting her daughter with an electrical cord and a metal coat hanger was arrested on a child abuse complaint, police reported Tuesday.
Maria Terrazas, 36, is free on bail, an Oklahoma County jail official said Tuesday.
The 11-year-old girl's father told police he noticed several bruises on his daughter's face, neck and nose when he picked her up Sunday, according to the police report.
The father told police that he and Terrazas are divorced; his daughter lives with her mother and her mother's boyfriend during the week and stays with him on weekends.
The girl told police she got into an argument with her mother Friday after Terrazas' boyfriend told her to beat the girl because she had spanked a baby while baby-sitting.
