TOWSON, Md. — Baltimore County police say a man charged with killing his grandparents in Pikesville has been extradited from Oklahoma to face murder charges.
Police say 31-year-old Matthew Long was transported from Oklahoma on Wednesday and is now being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
Long faces two counts of first-degree murder in the slayings last month of 87-year-old Vaughn George Pepper and 85-year-old Marjorie Marie Pepper.
Long had been hospitalized after what police say was an apparent suicide attempt.
Police have said the weapons used to kill the Peppers were a pair of 20-pound dumbbells and a knife.
