JAY — Mayes County authorities found two sets of orange jail clothes behind an abandoned house in Spavinaw early Wednesday, believed to be worn by two escaped Delaware County inmates, Sheriff Harlan Moore said Wednesday.
But it didn't take long to capture Pete Wolfe, 51, of Pryor, and Anthony Anderson, 22, of Sapulpa.
They were taken into custody without incidence within hours and are being held in the Mayes County jail, Moore said.
The men were captured north of Salina in Mayes County, he said.
Law enforcement officers spent Wednesday combing through Delaware County and neighboring areas looking for the men after they broke out of the jail through a window around 1:45 a.m.
During the search Mayes County authorities discovered the men's clothes with blood on them, Moore said.
The jail window had a middle grate on the inside, and “somehow they got the grate off,” Moore said.
Moore said jailers made a bed check at 1:15 a.m.
