Two males were detained after leading law officers on a high-speed chase from New Mexico to Texas and ending in Oklahoma, the Cimarron County sheriff’s office reported.

The pursuit began Wednesday after law officers received reports of a stolen car in Raton, N.M., Cimarron County Sheriff Leon Apple said.

Officers chased the pair from Coalfax County, N.M., through Dalhart, Texas, and the chase ended when the car went through a wire gate and hit a pile of dirt on a dead end county road northwest of Boise City.

The car was heavily damaged and the two were taken to an Oklahoma hospital to be treated for injuries suffered during the crash, Apple said.

New Mexico State Police, Dallam (Texas) County and Hartley (Texas) County sheriff’s deputies, Boise City police, Keyes police, Cimarron County sheriff’s deputies and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol took part in the chase, the Cimarron County sheriff’s office reported.

No names were released Wednesday.
