FREDERICK — Two Cuban nationals accused of running up tens of thousands of dollars in fuel expenses in a credit card scam may have either bought the credit card numbers or used a computer-generated program to obtain the numbers, Tillman County authorities said.
Alfonso Yudian, 30, of Katy, Texas, and Leonel Manendez Perez, 44, of Houston, were charged in April in Tillman County District Court with 14 counts of false making of a credit card and one count of taking and receiving a stolen credit card or debit card, all felonies.
Perez appeared in court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing conference docket, court records show.
“They are accused of running up close to $40,000,” Tillman County Undersheriff Bryan Smith said.
Smith said the alleged fraud started in December and centered on truck stops in Frederick and Davidson.
