LAWTON — A Lawton man will face a trial in the choking death of his grandfather during a domestic dispute last summer.
Comanche County Special District Judge Ken Harris ruled Thursday that there was enough evidence for 28 year-old Aaron Paddyaker to stand trial on one count of manslaughter.
Paddyaker’s defense attorney argued that his client was acting in self-defense when he choked Bart Hewes because Hewes had aimed a shotgun at his head, according to a local newspaper.
Hewes’ widow testified Thursday that her husband had aimed a gun at Paddyaker at least two times before the incident and had threatened to kill him.
