Zechariah Foster wants his grandmother and her friends who read the newspaper to know that he is not a crook.
Foster, 40, was arrested on April 4, 2012, accused of being involved with a ring of thieves who switched bar codes on spools of copper wire at a northwest Oklahoma City Home Depot, records show.
Foster was charged with obtaining property under false pretenses and conspiracy to commit a felony on April 16, 2012, court records show.
A brief news item appeared in The Oklahoman after he was charged.
Foster maintained his innocence, choosing not to accept a plea deal.
Prosecutors eventually agreed to let Foster take a polygraph examination, also known as a lie detector test.
Charges were dismissed in August 2013.
