DUNCAN — Police took into custody an Alabama woman wanted on a murder warrant Wednesday after officers were led on a 30-mile chase that exceeded 100 mph and ended in rural Stephens County, Detective John Byers said.
Barbara Wood, 45, of Greenville, Ala., is in the Stephens County jail on complaints of providing false information to officers, refusing to take a DUI test, attempting to elude officers, having an expired driver’s license and expired insurance, and assault and battery on a police officer.
She is being held on a no-bail warrant out of Alabama in connection with the 2012 shooting death of Steven Faulk, 40, Byers said.
Wood was to stand trial in June, but disappeared on the first day of her trial.
