A man driving a stolen car crashed into a highway median Wednesday afternoon, then stole and wrecked the car of a witness who stopped to help him, according to police.
Matthew Davis, 34, was driving about 85 mph when he lost control going northbound on Interstate 44 near SW 74, police said.
After witnessing the wreck, Ryan Bunda pulled over and stepped out of his vehicle to see if the driver was OK.
The man appeared frantic and said he had a child in the vehicle he was worried about, police said.
