NORMAN — Joe Mixon’s high school position coach was surprised by the allegations made against the five-star recruit following an incident early Friday morning near Campus Corner.
Norman police have confirmed the incident at Pickleman’s Gourmet Cafe, but no arrests had been made as of Saturday afternoon.
Ron Rivers, Mixon’s running backs coach at Freedom High School in Oakley, Calif., was stunned when he learned of the allegations.
“He’s not like that,” said Rivers, who played seven seasons in the NFL. “He’s a pretty calm kid, a pretty mellow kid.
