– A former Miami police officer accused of lying to a state grand jury in connection with a beating caught on video pleaded no contest Monday and received a three-year deferred sentence.

Teresa Lashmet, 37, appeared in Ottawa County District Court in Miami before Special Judge Bill Culver for what would have been her preliminary hearing, but the former officer waived her right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded no contest to two counts of outraging public decency and engaging in a pattern of criminal offenses.
