Gang colors may have provoked a man accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in front of her four children, court records show.
Quentin Erwin Smith, 27, of Oklahoma City, was charged Thursday in Oklahoma County District Court with misdemeanor domestic abuse, records show.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the woman and children were riding in Smith's car March 26 when he became irate that their 5-year-old son was wearing a Denver Broncos cap with a rival gang's color.
Smith accused the woman of “messing” with a member of the rival gang and punched her in the face and chest, police reported.
