A licensed alcohol and drug counselor has been charged with Medicaid fraud after allegedly billing the government for dozens of services rendered to a dead person.
The state filed charges Tuesday in Oklahoma County District Court against Shannon Raylene Rose, including three counts of Medicaid fraud and one count of identity theft, court documents show.
Rose is accused of billing the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, the agency that administers Medicaid funds to health care providers in the state, for hundreds of claims that she was unqualified to provide or failed to document.
She also submitted 48 claims seeking $5,454 for services provided after the death of a woman, court documents state.
