EDMOND — Three people were arrested Friday after police say they tried to steal prescription drugs from a drug disposal box in the lobby of the Edmond Police Department.
On Friday afternoon, Matthew Waller, 27, and Hollie Andress, 22, walked into the Edmond Police Department lobby and reached into an Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics drug disposal box that’s in the lobby and pulled out a shopping bag with pill bottles inside it, Edmond police spokeswoman Jennifer Monroe said.
The box is one of a number of similar boxes Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control officials place in law enforcement offices around the state where residents may drop off unwanted prescription medications.
Waller took the sack into a restroom in the lobby of the police department, where Andress’ father, Richard Andress, 54, followed him, police said.
Later, Hollie and Richard Andress came to the department’s records desk and asked for a police report, Monroe said.
